Scope of Services
- Yearly screenings ranging from preschool to eighth grade are completed by me at private and/or parochial school to measure the present level of speech, receptive and expressive skills as well as dyslexia screening on request. My reporting form includes the test result and language skills not supporting common core skills in vocabulary, following directions, recalling information and completing sentences. Language needs found Word of Mouth provides treatment for speech, language, voice and fluency disorders.
- I complete a diagnostic evaluation specific to a child's needs. Language evaluations include assessment of receptive and expressive language skills to measure the present feels and to identify skills weakened by the diagnosis identified during a neuropsychological examination i.e. Specific Learning: Dyslexia, Reading, Comprehension, Reading Fluency, Written Expression test results showing evidence of difficulty in the area of auditory processing, language reception, language expression and/or pragmatics.
- I create an Individualized Service Plan with parents of my client that targets the skills found during the evaluation and/or reported by the parents and teachers as needing to be strengthening.
- I participate in meetings with the parent and teacher/s of my client at schools to share test results and to identify core curriculum skills and executive function skills needing to be included in Individual Service Plan. I also maintain active communication with parents and teachers during and after sessions in a timely manner.
- I provide therapy at parochial and private schools with the administration's approval. Intervention at the school helps me to communicate with the teacher on a regular basis and work on skills that are needed in the school environment which are not necessarily seen at home because of the one-on-one parent support during homework.
- I have been training parents and their children to recognize and improve their executive function skills. The team approach helps the child see their parent's vulnerabilities when making a plan and following a plan. It has provided an even ground for communication, so there is no judgement of degrading only acceptance of differences and ways to help each other.
- I can provide tele practice on an as needed basis as long as the security requirements meet the HIPA requirements
